Weekly Report

Monday:
The week started with the Sports Activities of SUPW. There is minimum number of absentees on this day as it is much awaited throughout the week. The school was abuzz with the sports activities all over the campus.


Tuesday:

Usually this day is devoted towards assemblies, but this week classes IV to XII had their FA-II assessments. The nursery, Prep and Class II students were acquainted with the community helpers by calling at least two community helpers every day and by the end of the week children were well aware of these helpers.

 

Wednesday:

This day is devoted towards creative Activities of SUPW and the activities range from Phulkari, the traditional embroidery of Punjab, to painting with coffee. Astronomy club was acquainted with the concept of Visible Spectrum of the SUN and its radiation; science club observed the organisms in the biology lab; gardening club students learnt about herbs; ICT students learnt about web designing and a new software was introduced to them stick figures and the students of the cookery club tried their hand at Chinese food with the help of an external resource person.
Thursday:

Class Nur, Prep & I :-
ACTIVITY 1-POLYBAG MONSTER- The theme for this year is biodiversity, continuing the same gesture, three big effigies of polybags, smoke and thermocol monsters were made with the help of the art department. Children brought polybags and waste plastic items from home and pasted the poly bags and plastic bottles, boxes on the monster. All the children were taken to the seminar hall and teacher made the children understand the menace of plastic, how plastic is harmful for all of us, what all are the hazards of using polybags ,smoke, thermocol through an enactment by the teachers and children .
ACTIVITY 2-PIGGY BANK FROM USED BOX
As we develop the habit of not wasting the things, rather bring them in use in a fruitful manner, this activity was conducted in every section of preparatory. Children with the help of helpers and teachers painted the old boxes and decorated the box with their own creativity like some children drew cartoon characters, smileys, flowers etc and then teacher cut a small slit on the lid of the box. This activity enhanced their creativity and imagination. Lot of thrill and glee was seen amongst the children when they made the piggy boxes.
ACTIVITY 3-GO GREEN

To maintain the go green grow green factor circulars were sent few days before to the parents to send “GREEN LUNCH” on Thursday. Children brought Palak Paneer, Palak Puri, Peas, Green sandwiches etc. On the whole children enjoyed all the activities and they also made the slogans in the spiral books “SAY NO TO POLY BAGS”, “GO GREEN GROW GREEN”.
Class –II:
‘Childhood in a cocoon’ was the Thursday activity for class 11 . Children were divided into different groups and asked to make a collage on child labour by sketching, pasting pictures and writing appropriate slogans. The aim of the activity was to develop sensitivity towards child labour. Children actively participated in the activity and were made aware of child exploitation.
Class –III
Art has always been a mode of expressing inner feelings and thoughts. With this ides today's Thursday activity - a painting competition was decided with the title' sports day in the school'. Class III students enjoyed it to the halt and were really excited while giving colours to their dreams.

Classes –VI-VII:
Swift of tables was a mind boggling event, five heterogeneous groups participated. Stress was on mental calculations and the quiz master gave important tips, after all the brain scratching rounds team infinity emerged as winners followed by omega.
Classes VIII & IX:
These classes made wonder full collages on the topic our diversity our strength.
Classes XI & XII:
A very informative and interactive workshop on the topic ‘Career Couselling’ was held. They kindled the minds of the students by asking them some very stimulating questions related to their focus in life and the career they want to choose. The students were made to ponder upon their situation where would they be after 10 years. The resource persons elaborated upon the opportunities available in the field of fashion, knitting, fashion merchandise and production. They made the students aware of the fact that the goal of life should be set right on the beginning and then work towards it with dedication and full concentration.

Friday:

This is the day devoted to wards sitting assemblies, where all the students sit together in a circle and sing prayer songs. The atmosphere is divine and the students are motivated to listen to Mother Nature in the serene morning.
