Delhi Public School observed Constitution Day on 26th and 28th November through a thoughtful series of activities designed to deepen students’ understanding of the Indian Constitution and its enduring significance. The observance began on 26th November with a guest lecture for Class IX students by Senior Advocate Mr. Ankur Ghai at MPH JW, where he delivered an insightful session on the historical evolution, guiding principles, and contemporary relevance of the Constitution. He emphasized the balance between fundamental rights that empower every citizen and fundamental duties that ensure the smooth functioning of a democratic society, enabling students to appreciate the privileges and responsibilities enshrined in the nation’s governing document.

The Head of School, Mr. Jaya Prakash, presented a token of appreciation to the speaker and addressed the gathering, reflecting on the Constitution as a timeless foundation of India’s democracy. Later, the day featured an online inter-school presentation titled ‘United, by the Constitution’, conducted by Class XI Humanities students from DPS Ludhiana, Patna, Pune, and Coimbatore, in the presence of the Heads of School and Political Science faculty. Students explored lesser-known dimensions of constitutional development, with DPS presenting on The Evolution of India’s Constitution – Amendments, Missed Clauses, and Lessons from the 1975 Emergency, encouraging meaningful dialogue and critical engagement. On 28th November, a special assembly by Class X students brought the school community together for a reflective recitation of the Preamble, highlighting the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. Teachers and students shared thoughtful reflections on the relevance of these ideals in modern society, reinforcing the need to uphold them in everyday life. Overall, the Constitution Day observances fostered awareness, civic responsibility, and a deeper appreciation of democratic principles among students and teachers alike.
