Republic Day Celebrations
Delhi Public School celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India on January 26, 2026, with dignity and magnificence, as the campus echoed with pride, unity, and reverence for the nation’s democratic ideals. The ceremony commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Principal, Mr. Jaya Prakash, followed by a solemn rendition of the National Anthem and a disciplined march past by the Student Council, reflecting strength and commitment to the Republic. In his address, the Principal highlighted India’s journey toward economic freedom and progress, urging students to uphold liberty, equality, and freedom of expression while striving for knowledge, discipline, and moral excellence. The cultural segment enriched the occasion with stirring performances by the school band and choir, whose patriotic melodies awakened deep emotions of devotion.

A heartfelt student speech reaffirmed constitutional values, while performances by the Services Staff and teachers added warmth and collective pride. A thought-provoking play, An Unopened File, sensitively portrayed issues of inequality despite constitutional guarantees, inspiring reflection and awareness. The celebration culminated in a vibrant dance performance symbolising unity in diversity and paying tribute to India’s natural splendour and cultural richness, leaving everyone inspired to uphold freedom, equality, and fraternity.

The week-long pre-Republic Day celebrations at Delhi Public School from January 19 to 23, 2026, fostered patriotism through creativity and engagement. The Art Department initiated the festivities with a recycled, zero-waste welcome banner and a striking foyer installation, while the library curated a thematic book display. Classrooms radiated tricolour vibrancy, and the campus resonated with patriotic songs. Diverse activities encouraged critical thinking and civic awareness: Class VI engaged in a “Republic Day Brain Battle” quiz; Class VII explored rights and duties through poster-making and poetry; Class VIII reflected on India’s future in essay and story writing; Class IX produced a newsletter titled India Rising: The Republic Day Bulletin; and Class XI participated in debates, role-plays, and milestone presentations under India Shining – Milestones of Progress. A collaborative “Memory Wall” allowed students to express personal reflections on patriotism and unity. Collectively, these initiatives deepened students’ understanding of constitutional values and strengthened their sense of national pride and responsibility.
